ISMP Symposia at the 2017
ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting

The Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) is an independent, nonprofit charitable organization that provides education about medication errors and their prevention. The Institute has more than 40 years of experience in helping healthcare practitioners keep patients safe, and continues to lead efforts to improve the medication use process.

There will be a wide variety of opportunities to learn from ISMP experts at the 52nd annual ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in December. Below is a list of ISMP symposia that will be conducted.

For more information on ISMP, or its medication safety alert newsletters and other tools for healthcare professionals and consumers, visit www.ismp.org.

This symposium will address current safety issues due to smart pump underutilization, the implementation of a comprehensive drug library to promote compliance, methods to analyze pump data to investigate the use of best practices, and the steps pharmacists can take now in preparation for future technology interoperability.
