Activity Description
This educational activity will describe the importance of reliability principles and tools to ensure consistently safe health care delivery. Among these approaches is device connectivity, such as closed-loop intravenous medication administration in the ICU. The author, Kristen O'Shea, will discuss an infusion management system that provides a bidirectional interface between smart infusion pumps and electronic health records. She will also describe the safety and efficiency benefits of this innovation.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
