Activity Description

The development of monoclonal antibodies and other novel drug classes are quickly revolutionizing how to best treat autoimmune inflammatory diseases in patients presenting to our specialty dermatology, gastrointestinal, and/or rheumatology clinics. This activity is designed to introduce the most prevalent inflammatory conditions and their associated treatments to better support pharmacy technicians in their daily responsibilities caring for patients. Additionally, this module includes other important considerations such as financial assistance options for patients having trouble accessing preferred treatments.

Learning Objectives

The target audience for this activity includes pharmacy technicians. Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify inflammatory disease states (PsO/PsA, AD, CD, UC, RA, AS).
  • Classify and discuss treatment options for inflammatory disease states.
  • Review various financial assistance options available for drugs included based on patient insurance coverage.
