Activity Description

Psoriasis is a complex, inflammatory disease process affecting millions of patients. Pharmacy technicians in nearly any setting likely encounter psoriasis patients on an almost daily basis. As such, it’s important to know the individual manifestations of psoriasis and profound effects it may have on patients. This activity is designed to enhance the knowledgebase for pharmacy technicians on the topic of psoriasis (PsO) through a review of the different types and locations, goals of treatment and current treatment options. Additionally, this module identifies other activities of a specialty pharmacy in caring for patients with psoriasis, including financial assistance and patient management programs.

Learning Objectives

The target audience for this activity includes pharmacy technicians. Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Recognize the presentation, prevalence and risk factors for Psoriasis, including differentiation between the types.
