Activity Description

This educational activity will address different rheumatological disease states. Topics to be addressed will include presentation, prevalence, and risk factors, goals of therapy and prognosis, outline of current treatment options, as well as financial assistance that may be available for patients. Provided will be a workflow of the process in identifying financial assistance. This activity will serve to further educate pharmacy technicians on the different medications available for rheumatological conditions.

Learning Objectives

The target audience for this activity includes pharmacy technicians. Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the presentation, prevalence, and risk factors for rheumatological disorders.
  • Describe the goals of therapy and prognosis of rheumatological disorders.
  • Outline the current treatment options for rheumatological disorders.
  • Investigate financial assistance options available to patients.
