Activity Description

At the end of this presentation learners should understand the clinical presentation and risk factors of Atopic Dermatitis; recognize the current treatment options and understand the indication, dosing, administration, side effects, and warnings associated with each class of medications; and recognize workflow processes needed to optimize dispensing of these treatments. Learners will have a good understanding of the financial assistance options available for the current approved specialty atopic dermatitis medications for various patient populations. Specialty drugs that in the pipeline for atopic dermatitis will also be reviewed.

Learning Objectives

The target audience for this activity includes pharmacy technicians. Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the background of Atopic Dermatitis.
  • Review the clinical presentation of Atopic Dermatitis.
  • Outline the goals of treatment & current treatment options.
  • Identify important workflow processes.
